Clout chasing is at a all time high!
And both Yandy Smith and Porsha Williams have been accused of protesting for clout. Some social media users seem to believe that these reality stars are using social activism to rebrand their images or simply get clout.
Yandy addresses the claims that she was protesting for clout on Love and Hip Hop Unlocked.
When asked if she was protesting in an attempt to get attention or clout, she responded,
“It’s OK. It’s fine. My goal is definitely to amplify the voices of marginalized communities. And where else am I supposed to amplify the voices except where I have 6.5 million following me, on Instagram!”
She continues, “Long as you see me on the frontlines screaming Breonna Taylor, long as you see me on the frontlines screaming Sandra Bland, I’m glad I’m able to amplify these voices of these communities that have been marginalized.”

Unfortunately, we often see the lives of Black people marginalized in our country and it’s sad when people question the integrity of people who stand up against it simply because they are also reality stars.
