Kenya Moore is officially a Mom! And Porsha Williams, who is a mom-to be was just hospitalized! Let’s get into it y’all.
Kenya Moore did an exclusive interview with People magazine announcing that she has given birth to her and Marc Daly’s first child together, Brooklyn Doris Daly.
Kenya Moore, who is 47, told People.com that she gave birth to her daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly at 9:39 a.m. ET on today, Sunday, Nov. 4. The baby girl weighs 5 lbs. and 12 oz., which is a pretty healthy weight.
Kenya told the magazine that her and her husband Marc gave their daughter a name that holds special meaning. She said,
“Brooklyn because that’s where we met and fell in love, and Doris after my grandmother who passed away last year and who raised me.”
Kenya Moore has been open on RHOA about the estranged relationship she has had with her birth mother and the isolation she has felt because of that. Her mother has refused to acknowledge her. And I saw someone explain in a comment recently that the most likely reason Kenya’s mother has shunned her has to do with the Jehovah Witness religion and their practice of shunning and disfellowshipping people.
In any case, Kenya is reported to be doing well and she says “Brooklyn is very alert and active.” Which I love! I love active newborns!
Kenya Moore gave birth via emergency cesarean section after revealing on Oct. 27 that she had tested positive for preeclampsia — a pregnancy complication that caused her to gain “17 lbs. in ONE week due to severe swelling and water retention, high blood pressure, and excess protein in urine.”
Preeclampsia typically develops suddenly in women who previously had normal blood pressure after the 20-week pregnancy mark, according to the Mayo Clinic. And if left untreated, preeclampsia can have fatal consequences. The most effective form of treatment is delivery, something Kenya announced on Instagram she was considering.
“This is NOT normal,” Kenya wrote on Instagram. “Baby is fine but if [test] come back higher #babydaly will have to come same day.”
Kenya added “Staying positive, to my pregnant sisters please go to your visits and tell the doctor of any drastic changes. Thank God I have great doctors.”
On Saturday, Kenya let fans on Instagram know that her baby was on the way. “If you want to make God laugh have a plan…” she captioning a shot of her laying her hospital bed. “Won’t be long now. Pray for us 🙏🏾 #babydaly #weloveyou #prayers.”
Speaking of prayers, keep Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams in your prayers. Nene announced on Instagram not long ago that Porsha, who is pregnant with her first child – also a girl, has been hospitalized. She said.
Nene posted a picture of Porsha in a hospital bed hooked up to an IV with the caption, “Send some prayers and good vibes to our Tink Tink @porsha4real today #goodvibesonly #babyPJisdoingfine#aunteenene #babyboom #RHOA11 ”
So let’s all keep Porsha and her baby in our prayers as well.
