Amanda Seales is facing backlash after stating that Jussie Smollett’s alleged hoax hate crime is “low key noble.”

Amanda backed up her statement that the US justice system is too eager to make Black men examples by pointing out the lack of prosecution of Marlene Bryant, the White woman who accused Emmitt Till of verbally and sexually assaulting her.

Regarding prosecuting Bryant, the US Justice Department has stated

Prosecutors have faced daunting challenges. Beyond familiar barriers — such as a statute of limitations, the constitutional prohibition against double jeopardy and the reality that many people of the era have died — racially motivated attacks committed before 1968 cannot be prosecuted under a federal hate crimes law. “Even with our best efforts,” the Justice Department told Congress this year, “investigations into historic cases are exceptionally difficult, and rarely will justice be reached inside of a courtroom.”
