Although the hosts of The Real haven’t discussed Gayle King’s controversial interview with Lisa Leslie where she asked questions about Kobe Bryant’s 2003 rape case, Loni Love did speak about the controversy on camera with Hip Hollywood.

She explained that Black journalists do have certain parameters that they have to stay within, and that sometimes network executives don’t recognize that.

I don’t think they and I’m talking about networks understand the added sensitivity that we have as black creatives and black journalists have, “There are certain things we can say and things we can’t say when talking about certain subject matter and so she said she’s going to talk to CBS and hash that out.

I take this to mean that Black journalists have a responsibility to be extra sensitive in the way they cover Black news stories and Black celebrities. And network executives who are non-Black are not always aware or sensitive to this responsibility.
