If you watched last night’s episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta then you heard Eva Marcille’s husband, Attorney Michael Sterling, referring to God using the feminine pronouns in his wedding vows to Eva.

In case you missed it, here’s what he said:

In his vows Michael said:

“And when God sees fit to take us from this place, I promise you that I will ask her if she will let me be with you in the next life.”

Some people appreciated Michael’s reference to God as a woman, like this person who tweeted:

But other people were not here for Michael referring to God as a female. So Michael took to his social media to explain his choice in gender pronouns:

What do you think of Michael’s reference to God as a woman? Leave a comment and let me know!

Personally, I do believe that God possesses both masculine and feminine traits. But I think the fact that God made Adam “in His image” means something. And while it may sound impressive to some people to refer to God as a woman, I don’t think that’s how God sees himself.

  • You already said it. HIS image means something. All he talked about was what he believes. That’s irrelevant. We are to humble ourselves to what God says. That’s the bottom line for a Christian and anyone who believes the Bible. For those who worship pagan gods maybe they see it differently but I’m just referring to those who stand on Truth.

    • Thank you for commenting. I share the same sentiments. The truth is the truth.
